The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) is marking its 50th anniversary with a cross-country tour that combines celebration of the RV lifestyle with support for children battling cancer. Starting June 16th, CRVA President Shane Devenish will travel across Canada in a specially wrapped 2025 Citation Reward Travel Trailer by General Coach, with all tour proceeds benefiting the Care Camps Foundation, which provides healing camp experiences for children with cancer.
The timing of this anniversary tour coincides with record popularity for RVing in Canada, where over 2.1 million households now own an RV. This lifestyle has become deeply embedded in Canadian culture, offering families opportunities to explore scenic destinations, reduce stress, and support local communities through their travels. Beyond recreational benefits, the RV industry represents a significant economic force in Canada, generating over $3.4 billion annually and supporting more than 14,000 jobs across manufacturing, sales, and tourism sectors.
The anniversary tour will include stops at campgrounds and RV dealerships nationwide, including prominent locations such as Transcona Trailer Sales in Winnipeg and Western Country RV in Airdrie. Festival appearances will form key highlights of the journey, with participation planned for the Vancouver Craft Beer and Music Festival and the Boots and Hearts Festival, culminating at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. At each stop, attendees will have the opportunity to view the anniversary trailer, share their personal RVing stories, and purchase tickets for a chance to win the trailer through a fundraising raffle.
Shane Devenish emphasized the association's commitment to giving back to the community through this initiative, noting how the tour reflects the RV lifestyle's importance in Canadian culture. The journey aims to inspire both seasoned RV enthusiasts and newcomers to embrace the freedom of the open road while creating lasting memories. Updates from the cross-country journey will be shared through CRVA's communication channels, showcasing Canada's diverse landmarks and the unique experiences that RV travel offers. This summer tour represents a meaningful convergence of celebration, community engagement, and support for a cause that touches countless Canadian families, underscoring the enduring appeal and positive impact of the RV lifestyle across the nation.
